Douze paris
Founded in 2017 by Hermine Sacau, Douze Paris is a fine jewellery brand working with 18-karat recycled gold, and meticulously selected precious gemstones. Born on December 12, 1992, the young founder and designer is audacious and a budding gemmologist. Her passion for stones and exceptional jewels was brought by her great-grandmother, born on the same date, years ago. During the war, she had to flee Poland, taking with her only a few transportable and concealable goods: her jewels and stones. Years later, Sundays are spent cleaning the family treasures and admiring the past, with the already sharp eyes of Hermine. It was therefore an obvious choice to name the brand Douze (twelve in French), as a tribute to this exceptional woman. Douze Paris promotes the art of "Slow Jewellery" which gives life to precious jewels, more adapted to our time, and which lasts forever. This notion is found in the very designs of the creations, pure and timeless, which accumulate without moderation. From piercings to chain rings, from ear cuffs to bangles or tie necklaces, the House’s jewels always possess a light twist. These delicate objects are imagined to be worn daily, and to embrace every occasion to celebrate. Douze Paris’ production is thoughtful, and made by labelled workshops, renowned for their know-how. Collections and creations are mostly made to order, to avoid overproduction and dormant stocks. This Slow Jewellery mantra gives the artisans the time to do it right, and the excitement of waiting for the future owners. To satisfy the craziest desires, the Maison also has a Custom department, run by the designer Hermine. Beyond its original creations, Douze Paris pursues its eco-conscious vision through the Upcycling Bespoke Service and offers a second life to old jewels. A reasoned way to imagine new pieces by recycling existing gold, already extracted and forgotten. Celebrating the past for a precious future.
