Delphine Crech’riou was born in Paris and raised in the Montmartre area of Paris and lived a simple and love-filled childhood with her mother and grandparents. At age 30, Delphine decided to leave her comfortable life in Paris to travel the world with only her backpack. It was in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil that she met her future Business partner Jenny Collinet. Together, they created the jewellery brand Hipanema, renowned for its hippy chic cuff-bracelets, that were inspired by the colours of the city. She wanted to create a new a jewellery brand inspired by her family and so, Van Den Abeele was born. Then two years later, the first collection was released. Delphine has always had a woman of her family included in her creative process. Her mother, her grandmother and now, her daughters who inspire her every day. This first collection is audacious and loving. It combines the savoir-faire of Parisian jewellery and the shining energy of costume jewellery. Delphine’s perfection stands halfway between classic and eccentric. A paradox where diamonds are combined with colourful enamel and rainbow-like colour gradients.
