At Boltenstern, the Gemstones are directly set into shapes, sometimes freely moving, or simply becoming one with the shape. There is no traditional setting to hold them, adding a completely new dimension of colour to the pieces. Our creations are coded by hand and crafted by technology - their intricate complexity cannot be crafted by human hands alone. The designs are inspired by the mathematics of nature, such as the growth pattern of flower leaves. These shapes are used as a basis to create repetitive patterns of intricate beauty, with the BOLTENSTERN signature movability. The founder and Managing Director of the company, Marie Boltenstern, sets out to stir up a long-established industry often dominated by 'old masters'. Marie builds on the heritage of 60 years of BOLTENSTERN brand and combines it with state-of-the-art technology to create unique structures that defy the former limitation of the craft. We work towards the vision to create a sustainable value chain through ethical sourcing, working solely with recycled metals and other recyclable materials, partnering exclusively with certified European manufacturers and finishing all products in the traditional in-house goldsmith workshop.
